Spring Formal

Spring Formal

GCA Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors gathered for the 3rd annual GCA Spring Formal on Friday, April 13, 2018. Students met at the school at 3:45 p.m. to ride on two buses to The Cliffs in Travelers Rest, SC. Once at The Cliffs, the first activity was to have pictures taken. After pictures, the students and chaperones went into a dining room for dinner which began with a mixed green salad and rolls. The main course of Salmon, Steak, or Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was pre-selected by each person and brought to each of the eight tables by the Cliffs' wait staff. Dessert was also pre-selected and was either cheesecake with berry topping or decadent chocolate cake.

After dinner, everyone boarded the buses to commute to North Greenville University to see the musical, Beauty and the Beast. Before the performance, the students posed for a group picture in front of the Billingsley Theater. The performance started at 7:30 p.m. and there was a 15-minute intermission at 8:45 p.m. The performance was well executed and ended about 9:50 p.m.

After the performance, the students rode the buses for an After-Party at Clint and Kelly Ooten's house in Simpsonville where they had extra time to socialize over fruit, donuts, and coffee.  The evening officially concluded at 12:30 a.m. and a good time was had by all!

Visit by S.D. Smith

Visit by S.D. Smith

S.D. Smith, author of The Green Ember series, came for a special visit to Greenville Classical Academy on Friday, September 8, 2017. He first spoke to 1st - 6th grade students in the morning followed by a book signing. Some individual grades were privileged to have Mr. Smith come directly to their classroom to read a chapter out of his book. After lunch, he spoke to 7th - 12th grade students for Chapel. We are extremely grateful that he took time to come visit our school.
