When should I apply?
Applications for the next school year are available beginning October 24.
When is the deadline to apply?
The regular deadline to apply is May 31.
Can I still apply after the regular deadline?
Yes, we will continue to take applications on a rolling basis IF space is still available in the class.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is $150 for K4 - 8th grade students and $75 for 9th-12th grade students.
When is the deadline to apply for financial aid?
The priority deadline to apply for financial aid is March 31.
Do you have Open Houses?
During the 2019-2020 school year, GCA will host morning Open Houses on October 23, November 13, January 15, February 12 (Homeschool Families) March 18, and April 15. We will also host two evening information meetings on February 20 and May 7. Open Houses and Information Meetings are fantastic ways for prospective families to see the GCA campus, learn about our exciting learning environment, as well as meet staff, faculty and current students.
What if I can’t come to an Open House?
If you can’t come to an Open House, GCA’s Admissions Director will be happy to set up a time to give you a personal tour. Click on the link below to schedule a visit.
Do you allow students to shadow?
Yes, students applying for 3rd - 12th grades may shadow another student for a full-day or a half day. Shadowing is an excellent way for a prospective student to find out what a day at GCA is like. To schedule a “Shadow Day” for your child, contact GCA’s Admissions Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where do GCA graduates go to college?
GCA graduates have attended Anderson University, Bob Jones University, Campbell University, Clemson University, College of Charleston, Furman University, Greenville Technical College, North Greenville University, Patrick Henry College, Spartanburg Methodist College, University of South Carolina - Columbia, and University of Southern California.
How much homework can we expect?
K4/K5: 15 minutes / day
Grades 1 – 3: 15 to 40 minutes / day
Grades 4 – 5: 45 to 75 minutes / day
Grade 6: 60 to 90 minutes / day
Grade 7: 70 to 105 minutes / day
Grade 8: 80 to 120 minutes / day
Grades 9 +: Approximately 60-80 minutes of homework per class on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Do you require any referral forms as part of the admissions process for a new student?
Yes, we require a Pastor Referral Form and a Teacher Referral Form.
What’s your cell phone policy for students?
Students are not allowed to use cell phones during the school day unless there is a teacher-directed activity. This includes lunch.
Do you offer hot lunches?
Families may order and pay for a hot lunch for their child through boonli.com. The lunch is delivered to the school at no charge to the family. The food vendor changes from time-to-time, but current vendors are Chick-fil-a, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Moe’s, Cookout, and Henry’s Barbecue.
